Realme X live image shows off the bezel-less display

“The Realme X is also getting an in-display fingerprint sensor, which means that its display will be of AMOLED quality”

The Realme X launch event has been confirmed for May 15th. Now, a week ahead of the launch, we have a render of the front panel of the upcoming premium handset from the OPPO sub-brand. The Realme handset previously passed TENAA which revealed its front but those images usually don’t tend to reveal much about the fascia because they’re completely black thanks to the screen being turned off while the shot is captured.

Take a look at the image above. The source of the image is Realme CMO Xu Qi Chase, who posted the image on Weibo, so this is obviously not a fake render. This image comes just a day after Chase posted an image of the Realme X retail box on the Chinese social media platform. The brand’s official account also revealed today that the screen-to-body ratio of the Realme X is 91.2 percent which, although lower than many other Chinese competitors, is still impressive. Also, users don’t have to deal with a notch. The Realme X is supposed to have two versions – Snapdragon 730 SoC, Snapdragon 855 – both of which will feature a lifting selfie camera.

Pop-up cameras have been on the rise this year, with many Chinese companies including OnePlus hopping on the bandwagon. The TENAA listing has confirmed that the Realme X has a 6.5-inch full-HD+ display and a 3,680mAh battery. This is probably with respect to the Snapdragon 855 variant. It’s also likely to get VOOC 3.0 and a 48MP primary camera on the back. The Realme X Lite, on the other hand, will probably make compromises in a number of aspects to achieve a more aggressive price tag; it is also rumoured to be the rebranded version of the Realme 3 Pro.

In terms of pricing, speculation suggests that the Realme X 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage variant could cost as low as RMB 1,599 (~Rs 16,500). It’s also exciting to see that the Realme X will be launching in India as confirmed by Realme CEO Madhav Sheth himself. What remains to be seen is how aggressive the handset will be priced in India.
