"The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ come with better cameras and performance refinements"
Samsung announced its flagship duo of the year - Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ (first impressions) at its Unpacked event on Sunday. The new flagships from the South Korean tech giant will be available in global markets starting March 16th and the company has already started taking pre-orders in India. Now, ahead of the official launch of the handsets for the country, 91mobiles has obtained an official document that reveals the Indian pricing of the smartphones.
Samsung launched three storage configurations of the handsets – 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. However, according to the latest information, it appears that only 64GB and 256GB variants will make their way to India. There is no word yet if the brand is planning to launch the 128GB model in the country at the moment. As per the information available with us, the MRP of the flagship duo in India is Rs 62,500 for the S9 64GB variant. and Rs 71,000 for the 256GB model. The bigger sibling, S9+ is expected to retail for Rs 70,000 for the 64GB variant and Rs 79,000 for the higher end 256GB model. A point to be noted here is that MoP is usually lower than the MRP, so we can expect the actual prices of the handsets to be lower when launched.
To recap on the handsets, Samsung Galaxy S9 features 5.8-inch QHD+ curved Super AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9 and will be powered by Snapdragon 845 or Exynos 9810 SoC, depending on the region. The processor will be mated to 4GB RAM. In the imaging department, Galaxy S9 comes with a 12MP Super Speed Dual Pixel camera on the back with OIS and variable aperture. At front, you get an 8MP autofocus camera that offers a new AR emoji feature. It runs Android 8.0 Oreo and is powered by a 3,000mAh battery. The Samsung Galaxy S9+ retains the same specs except for a bigger 6.2-inch QHD+ curved Super AMOLED display, 6GB RAM, 12MP dual rear cameras and a bigger 3,500mAh battery.
Apart from the listing on the official Samsung website, Flipkart has also gone ahead and put up a dedicated page for them, which suggests that the flagship duo will be available online on Flipkart.
